Another Snap Shot

So it's week 32. Approximately eight weeks until delivery. Pilar has been experiencing some pretty significant "braxton-hicks" contractions today. This does not mean she is going into labor. Braxton-hicks is actually the process by which a woman's body trains for labor. The symptoms she is having are moderate contractions that strengthen the muscles necessary for labor and prepare the body for the overall experience. The human body is an amazing creation.

Accompanying this entry is another snap shot into Pilar's progress. This picture was just taken moments ago. Doesn't Pilar look great?! I think she has really done a great job throughout this adventure. I just love her so much and I am so thankful that we are having this experience together! Continue to check in as the weeks build toward January 24th!

Blessings,
Josh

Thanksgiving 2005

Today is Thanksgiving. The one day each year specifically set aside to express our thankfulness for the many ways God provides sustanence in our lives. As we reflect upon the year past, we certainly have much for which to give thanks. We have been especially blessed this year with a healthy mom and healthy baby. For this we express our graditude every moment we are given opportunity. As we look into our lives however, we are very thankful this year for you; our friends. You have been a souce of laughter. You have showered us with your friendship. You hold us up with your support. Happy Thanksgiving. We are so thankful for you!

Blessings,
Josh and Pilar

Ten Weeks and Counting

Time to update. Yesterday we had our 30 week appointment. Mom and baby are healthy. We are well on our way within the third and final trimester. I'm not so sure where the other "mesters" went. As many many parents have shared with us, a new pace of life has begun.

Pilar is feeling well. Each day is a little bit different, but in general she is doing great! The baby is moving ALOT and I think that brings her moments of remarkable joy. However, we are certain this child has settled a winter home in Pilar's rib's. It is not uncommon for Pilar to be sitting contently during a television show, or dinner, or while reading only to be jolted with a judo chop to the rib cage. While uncomfortable, it is humorous. This is a busy baby!

We can't wait to meet Baby Peigh. As we have shared previously, we're waiting to learn the gender at delivery. With each passing day, the anticipation grows to learn if our home will be graced with a little boy or girl. I am officially indifferent of the two. Some days I dream of rough housing with a son and others I look forward to the hugs of a daughter. Regardless, this gift is a fantastic reality.

So at the top of the page you'll notice a picture of Baby Peigh as we know him or her. This is a drawing from a book we've been reading called "Planning Your Pregnancy and Birth." It's just wild to envision this magnificent process God designed. In the next couple of days we'll update with a few pictures of Pilar.

We hope you are all well. Please leave a post so we can hear how you are doing as well!

Blessings,
Josh and Pilar
